  • What are all the organizations you can use to become a foreign exchange student?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under organizations | 4 Comments »

Hey I’m Jessica. I am thinking about doing a foreign exchange my senior year, to either Japan or Australia. Do any of you know all the organizations you can go through to become a foreign exchange student? Which organization, and which country would you choose? Thank ya:)

Rotary has a strong global network of volunteers, so I would definitely check out to your local Rotary Club in addition to the other programs mentioned. If your high school has an Interact Club, that would be a way meet them as well.

I don’t think it would be a problem to go out your senior year (even though you may miss graduation), but since our students usually go out in their junior year of high school or after graduation, I would check with your school and your local Rotary District’s rules to determine if you can go out your senior year.

In our program, we send students to countries where they do not speak the language, so that they have to learn it. This adds to a tremendous and life changing experience. You are allowed to identify your top picks of where you want to go, but there are no guarantees, just that it will not be an English speaking country. I can tell you that Japan is a popular choice.

Please remember that there is an application process and you have to be selected to go.

You can go to www.rotary.org and click on the "Students and Youth" tab at the top of the page for more information.

    Good Luck!

What value does a company get from sponsoring a student organization?

I’m the president of a new student organization in the business discipline and I am trying to get corporate sponsors so that we can have more operating capital. There are some obvious things I can provide, like a Resume CD, but what are some other benefits that I can offer through my group?

Advertising – company name displayed on a banner or all publications. Business depend on name recognition so the more places (good places) it is seen the better. That is how the basketball team pays for their game programs – all those business card "ads" scattered on the pages. A press release is also an underused type of advertising. You call the local paper – this is small town stuff – to announce that XYZ company is sponsoring the BFD club at IOU high school thus allowing the BFD club to further the development of it’s members yadda yadda.

Why is leadership important in organisations?

    This is relating to management.
If possible, in your answer could you please refer to management or business theorist e.g. F.W.Taylor or Hofstede etc.

    Thank you for your help.

    Dear Sir,
he is just like a pilot of the plane, no plane can flight without pilot as no organization can run without management.

what strategy dose jefferson use to organize his list of grievances in The Declaration of Independence?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under organization strategy | 2 Comments »

For example, time order, order of severity,or order of importance and why do you think he chose this organization?

    Because Madison told him to?
This can’t be a homework question because the premise doesn’t even exist. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration, with the help of at least 40 governors, representatives, and secretaries.

Which level in the organization does change process begin?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under organization change | 1 Comment »

The change process doesn’t start at a level it starts with an individual prepared to take the initiative to bring it about. In a healthy organization that is learning from experience and change is an ongoing process.

Unfortunately, because some people get too comfortable, and the organization stalls, development stops. People at all levels have an investment in the status quo, risk is discouraged and the organization stagnates until its "inhabitants" (at this point in time they are really not active members of anything) are forced to change – usually by the prospect of loosing their jobs.

With inspiration, however, everyone is more willing to take the risk something new. The inspiration appears inside as a confidence that different personal behavior can bring about different results. When someone takes that risk and the results are seen to be promising, others will follow. They can be subordinates and/or peers and/or more senior people who have been waiting for someone to take a risk and identify alternatives.

There are examples showing that the instigator can be anywhere from someone at the lowest level who demonstrates what is possible by winning back a lost customer, or demonstrating a new process, to the board room when the chair decides to bring in a new CEO.

The lesson in all this is that we cannot wait for someone else to start change because it might not happen. By waiting we are depriving the organization of our contribution and depriving ourselves of the satisfaction of knowing we have done our best. By changing, by learning, we are acknowledging we are alive and that we still believe in ourselves.

Does a candidates ability to run a campaign reflect on their skills as a leader?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under organization strategies | 6 Comments »

Firing campaign managers, not getting out caucus votes, ignoring states, failed and flawed strategies.

I ask, if a candidate cannot piece together a coherent and polished campaign are they qualified to run the country?

Attention to detail, strategy, organization skills are all on display.

They left McCain for dead and kicked him to the street. Now Romney is going to endorse him, he has the backing of the whole republican congress, plus much much more. With the exception of far right talk show conservatives like rush limbaugh, sean hannity, ann coulter who need to put their partisan politics aside and look at the total picture, and they also are being left behind in the dust.
I would say McCain definately has it together as far as skills and experience as a leader.

I’m in SIFE, a college business organization, and I was wondering if anyone had a good fundraising ideas?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under business organization | 2 Comments »

I go to a small college (3,000), and our org. is about 30 people. We are having a comptetition for the best fundraising idea.

The best way is to get sponsors from businesses, like automotive, electronics such as makers of Ipods,DVD’s,Cell phones etc! Hot ticket items! Get the businesses to sponsor you and donate some of there products for raffling off! Business love tax right off’s for worthy causes.

Great fundraising ways to get the funds you would want, and would have a great turn out too! plus you could do many contest for prizes too! many fundraisers use bingo alot too!

Or you could have a all you can eat of pancakes, they go over very well! and bake sales! Using a few combinations will not only excite people of all ages but have a great turn out as well.

With many funds collected too! Just make sure it isn’t all set up for one certain age group! The more the merrier and success.

In traditional organization structure, the project manager is least likely to share resources. True or False?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under organization structure | 1 Comment »

    True or False?

    Please explain

It largely depends where in the Budget Cycle you are and if your Project is under or over budget ..

Essentially, no-one wants to share until the last moment when budgets are about to be reviewed .. then if you are running under budget, you try to spend every penny you can before ‘Der Management’ find out and cut next years budget ..
