  • What organizations can I volunteer at that do not deal with the needy?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under organizations | 14 Comments »

Before the summer ends, I would like to do some volunteering with organizations that do not deal with the needy. I do not want to work for the homeless, the handicap, handicap children or the elderly (handicap or not). I also hate calling folks on the phone for blood or donations. My only explanation that I can give for my avoidance is that I do not have the patience or I am afraid that I would get too concerned about there lifes. I simply do not want to get involve or make any sort of "friendships" that may carry long time commitments.

    Thanks

What considerations should an organization take into account while creating a pricing strategy?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under organization strategy | 2 Comments »

In a general sense the most critical thing to analyze is the price point that maximizes overall profit. This requires knowledge of the elasticity of demand and the cost structure for procurement and / or manufacturing. A luxury car manufacturer will therefore have a very different pricing strategy than a wheat grower because the price elasticities will be very different.

In specific situations to gain market share and scale advantage, a company might choose to price a product lower than its optimal profit point in order to establish in the market. Hence, the concept of the introductory price.

How could I promote my organization: Youth for Change to help Christian youth of Pakistan?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under organization change | 4 Comments »

The Christians in Pakistan are about 2% of its population. The Christian youth needs help to learn job skills and educate themselves — they need lot of information on the kind of education they should go for in order to excel in it. They need business education so that they could initiate their own businesses and find success in it. They need to learn internet and English to enhance their knowledge. There is a need to help male students to find better education and better job so that they could marry with the well literate Christian females, at present there is an unbalance among the sexes at that level which has created social problems . At present there is a need to motivate young people to take up their responsibilities and work hard at it. We would like to work for female youth empowerment and development as well. If the youth is not helped in their soical problems they will become further poor and also will be very depressed and will lose interest in the Church work & society.

Take the help of Gen Musharraf but don’t agree if he offers to open Madrassas for Christians in Pakistan or he’ll turn them into Jehadis!

how would you best describe why communication is so important in a business/organization?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under organization communication | 2 Comments »

I’m doing an essay and it asks why it is so important to have effective communication with clients. what would you say?

The communication between a business and a client builds not only understanding it builds trust. Trust should be a top priority when working on a long-term business relationship because without it a business has nothing. If a client cannot trust in the business then there will be no open-ended communication. With that being said, both work together and must be built up together at an even pace in my opinion.

Which is the best server for a small business organization?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under business organization | 2 Comments »

I would like to know which is the best server that will support around 30 users in a small organization and its budget.
I also want to know what all things i have to keep in mind about a server before going for a purchase?

Where I work we have a Dell running Small Business Server. We are 23 users and everything is done on this server – e-mail, files, internet access.
I know it has 2 processors and 8 giga-bytes of memory (I ordered it). It also has an tape drive for backups (uses small tape cartridges). If a disk drive fails, there is one that replaces it automatically and then we can call dell to swap the failed one.
It came with a support contract – an engineer comes in a couple of hours to check on it if we call Dell. When I ordered it I looked for the following:
    - enough performance and disk space to serve all users
    - backup solution (we bought a software called Backup Exec and the tape drive)
    - simple system – even I know Windows enough to create a new user
    - redundant disks
    - support contract with same-day intervention.

We can afford having the server down for a day, but more would be very crippling. Dell offered these, but others probably have the same options. Try to get more offers and push the price down (I had another one from a small local company, so Dell gave me a discount).

    Good luck!

what is the meaning of system approch in management of organization?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under organization management | 1 Comment »

What will be the Technical, Social and Power sub-system in System Approch?

In a system approach, everything is related or connected to something else. Everything has to work together. Each task is not separate, rather, it is dependent upon another task just as a later task is dependent upon it.

Would an organization with a pyramidal structure be ripe for takeover ?

Would an organization with a pyramidal structure be vulnerable to takeover ?

Would an organization with a pyramidal structure be at risk of takeover ?

Does Murphy’s law suggest an organization vulnerable to takeover will be taken over ?

It would be a prime target, cut off the head and you have chaos.
