  • What is leadership and what does it take to be a leader?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under leadership organization | 1 Comment »

I wanted to get different opinions on what people believe a leader is, and what qualities an individual should have in order to be a leader? Do you think leadership is different depending on what organization you are working for?

All leaders have different styles of leadership, but some of the more common traits I would look for would be:
-Integrity, without that nothing else matters.
-Accountability, takes responsibility for their actions, and those of their subordinates.
-Decisiveness, there are times when a decision must be made, and made now.
-Trust, is willing to delegate authority to subordinates while retaining responsibility.
-Humility, is willing to admit being wrong, and learns from experience.
