  • what are the uses of business communication in an organization?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under organization communication | 1 Comment »

Business communication allows for contact between the varying levels of management. It allows for the upper management (e.g. the CEO) to talk to the middle management about their overall strategy/goals for the business. The middle management can then think of specific ways to implement the strategy by communicating with other middle managers. Then the middle management will tell the first-line managers what they should do for the overall business strategy. The first-line managers then dictate to the front-line workers what to do.

During this time, the managers will communicate together to effectively manage the business as a team (e.g. the first-line managers will communicate among each other and the upper management will communicate together).

Also, stockholders must communicate in meetings in order to vote for the board of directors. The board of directors must communicate to hire top executives and determine the overall direction of the business. Also, managers must communicate with suppliers and distributors/customers.
