Internal control is important to get the job done.

Just suppose you were the manager of a local post office. There would be a certain volume of mail you would be required to receive, sort, and deliver every day.

Internal controls in the way of procedures manuals, quotas, and reports, would provide you the information about whether or not your post office was getting the job done.

Internal controls also help correct errors and get back on track when things change or get interrupted.
