Remember that even if there is any conspiracy it can work ONLY through our weaknesses (like self-centeredness, our consumerism, our desire to be important). Theosophical society can be hijacked probably but not the theosophical teaching. H.P. Blavatsky was a great person and she did a lot but she always warned that it should not be a cult of leader or of any person. It is the Truth that must be the center of the teaching. Also this man should have read A. Besant’s biography to know that she eveolved and changed her views over her life: from christian to “materialist” to socialist (politician) to theosophist.

I would agree that M.Blavatsky’s illness was poisoning….The story goes that on several occasions she not only appeared to transform her body into, say, that of an old Indian male, but that hair could be cut from her head and verified as that of an old Indian man. Many witnessed these kinds of phenomena and that is how she became so famous in the days before television could make any idiot “famous”. She could therefore heal herself so slow poisoning by trusted people is plausible.
