A Phase 5 alert is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short.

The United States Government has declared a public health emergency in the United States. CDCs response goals are to reduce transmission and illness severity, and provide information to help health care providers, public health officials and the public address the challenges posed by this emergency. CDC is issuing and updating interim guidance daily in response to the rapidly evolving situation. CDCs Division of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) continues to send antiviral drugs, personal protective equipment, and respiratory protection devices to all 50 states and U.S. territories to help them respond to the outbreak. The swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is susceptible to the prescription antiviral drugs oseltamivir and zanamivir. In addition, the Federal Government and manufacturers have begun the process of developing a vaccine against this new virus.

* Description :

The skills, knowledge and expertise of workers determine organizations’ competitive advantage. Every organization is challenged by the pace of change, technological advances, shortening product life-cycles, and changing customer expectations. Human resources can make the difference among organizations with the same access to equipment, technology and facilities.
The HRD certification system is a straightforward, proven framework for delivering business improvement through people. It offers organizations a systematic process to review their human resources practices, develop staff and improve training effectiveness.

Investors in People Standard (Investors in people UK) is the scheme of the UK and the People Developer is Singapore’s quality standard for human resource development. Best HRD (Best Human Resources Developers) is a new attempt being made by Korea to advance its people’s knowledge, skills, attitude, and creativity toward the enhancement of organizations’ capability.

Only two of the Colorado Anons were able to make it out for a second day in a row of protesting. We arrived at the Australian Consulate a little late…..but Marc Headley was there at noon on the dot. We didn’t have much foot traffic, that okay because we were there to make a point. We were there to show that Colorado Anonymous, as well as many people in general, support Senator Xenophon with his request for an inquiry into scientology. Hopefully this will be a snowball effect….first France, next Australia, then…..? It is time that the corrupt business organization “Church of Scientology” be exposed .

We hung out with Marc for about two hours. He brought cake, thanks Marc the cake was delicious! He brought great stories to tell and he signed my book, “Blown For Good’. Marc is a down to earth, nice guy. It was a pleasure meeting him and having him show his support for Senator Xenophon in our neck of the woods.

Thanks to El Queso Allstars for their great music and the permission to use it in all anti-scientology campaigns.

Good luck to the ex-scientologists in Australia who are on a quest to have an inquiry into scientology AU.

The challenge for organizations is to move away from talking about storytelling and incorporating it into two places within the business:
- Different workshops or classes
- Into the processes where business is conducted

After storytelling is incorporated, the message should be taken to the leadership within the organization and address three areas where it could benefit the organization:
1. Move forward strategy for the organization as a whole
2. Sales and marketing
3. Branding

It is also important to understand where the systems fit into the work process, and how they could benefit from a competency perspective.

A few years ago, DDI was struggling to embed the organization’s three strategic priorities in employee thinking. An employee in the communications department came up with the idea to turn in six stories every two weeks, two stories on each of the three strategic priorities. The idea was to send a story on a Friday afternoon in a voicemail. Employees could do any of the following:
- Listen in real-time
- Save it and listen to it later
- Download it to their computers
- Download them online

The President loved the idea and currently, each employee knows the three strategic priorities.
